When love is returned...

Yesterday I was inspired by love.
Good old fashioned love.
That kind of love that you would die for, risk your life for, give your life to...
I was inspired by love.

My friend, Corne, sent me a picture on BBM. It was a picture of her left hand with a beautiful ring on her ring finger. When I saw this picture, I was overwhelmed with joy. I did not know whether I should laugh or scream, I wanted to do a million different things at the same time. I was so happy for her. I still am.

And so she and I starting chatting and she told me that this came as such a surprise to her and that she was in tears. It was obviously tears of joy. Now Cora is not usually one who has nothing to say, but yesterday, she was caught off guard. And as our conversation went on, I found myself crying tears of joy too. She is so deserving of happiness. And so is her fiance. I have known him for as long as I can remember, and I can truly say I have never seen him this happy. He lights up when she is around. He smiles when he looks at her. He protects her. He loves her. And she loves him. She supports her man. She stands up for him. She is his strength when he has none.

Today, I want to tell my friends, Curtis and Corne, that I love them and I wish them all the best in life. From here on out, the obstacles will still be there, the challenges may even seem more difficult at times, life will not be a bed of roses all of a sudden, but you will overcome it all. You will jump over every hurdle. You will overcome each challenge. Why? Because your love has conquered worse.

I leave you with the words of Mike Dooley:

“In the beginning, the price of giving great love is risking that it won't be returned. Until you understand, of course, that great love is always returned. With interest.” 

Your interest has come. Your love is returned.
Thank you for showing us what great love is capable of. Thank you for showing us how it should be when love is returned.

I love rainy days. Days like today. I love them. The air seems so much cleaner. I inhale it and I feel alive. I feel alive. Rain has a cleansing effect. It falls down to the Earth and wipes all the dirt away. It penetrates the ground and works its way through every soil granule and blade of grass it can find. It leaves its mark on everything it touches. It cleanses. And then, it makes way for growth. That is what rain does. It touches the Earth and makes flowers grow, it makes grass green, and it nourishes and feeds so that growth can take place. And after the rain has stopped, the dark clouds that once threatened are gone, and it leaves us with a beautiful rainbow and the sun that eventually makes its way through the clouds. I often wondered if it would ever happen for me… I often wondered if having life growing inside    me would be something I would experience too.  You know how those thoughts of doom and gloom enter your mind and try to convince you that it is merely something you will witness and never have the pleasure of experiencing first hand.
