Dear Young Women
Today, I want to talk
about woman on woman hate.
Today, I want to talk
about those women who hate on you just for being you. And I mean, if you’re a
woman who knows what she wants, then having a few people ‘hate on you’ is
normal I guess.
However, in this day
and age, there are woman who sit on their arses all day long and still hate on
you for going out there and achieving your goals. You still find bitter women
who have nothing to their name, but feel they have a right to tell you shit
about what you have. You still find women who think finding a rich man and
getting him to look after you is the be all and end all, and frown upon you for
working hard every day to make your own money.
I live by my personal
mantra, ‘Temporary sacrifice. Life-long gain.’ My year has especially been one
of sacrifices lately. Sacrificed my permanent employment and monthly salary to
go back to school and do my Masters degree. I sacrificed living in my home and
my personal space, and chose to rent it out instead and move back to my family
home. Because all these temporary sacrifices will produce lifelong gain. All these
sacrifices will result in me achieving my goal of becoming a Psychologist and
doing what I was destined to do. Yet, through all this, you find women who have
nothing, except a chip on their shoulder, talking nonsense about you because
you are doing something with your life. Through all the sacrifices that will
eventually pay off, you find women who sit on their laurels and try to prevent
you from accomplishing your goals, because laziness has consumed them.
I always find it so
funny when I hear ‘La-Toya, that girl does not like you.’ Sometimes, it bothers
me, most times; it goes in the one ear and out the other. You see, girls do not
bother me much. Their cognitive abilities have not progressed yet. They lack
insight. They lack depth. They lack truth. Girls do not bother me; they still
need to grow up. Young women are the ones who bother me. Young women are
supposed to stand together. Young women are supposed to build each other up,
not break one another down. But alas, it is easier to say an unkind word about
someone you barely know, than to appreciate the efforts of a young woman who
knows what she wants in life.
Dear young women, be
brave enough to know what you want in life and fight for it, instead of
breaking one another down.
Dear young women, go
out there and claim what belongs to you.
Dear young women, be
bold and true to your cause, but support those of others too.
Dear young women, stop
hating and bitching and moaning, it brings you nowhere. It brings you nothing. It
only makes that chip on your shoulder even bigger than it already is.
Dear young women, make
your own money.
Dear young women, drive
your own cars.
Dear young women, exude
beauty, because that which you give to the world, is that which comes back to
you.
Dear young women, stop
hating and bitching, you are better than that.
