In love with Life!!

I drove past an accident scene early this morning. The vehicle was upside down, windscreen and windows smashed. It looked terrible.
That was my eye opener. Early this morning, my eyes were opened. I saw that nothing is guaranteed in life. I saw that nothing lasts forever. I saw that nothing is promised.
After seeing that vehicle, I drove to my parents’ home, said good morning to them, did my Mom’s hair and sat down and had a chat with my Dad. I cherished that little time I had with them. I was glad that I could share those moments with them and in the process, create more memories. I do not know how many of these moments I will still have with them, but I am grateful that this morning, I had it.
This life has been given to us in order for us to live, not merely exist. This life has been given to us in order for us to experience, to see, taste, smell, hear and touch. This life has been given to us in order for us to savour the moments. Be in love with it. Have a love affair with it. Embrace it, the ups and the downs, the good and the bad.
Today, my eyes were opened and I realized that each day given unto me is a blessing, one that I should be grateful for, one that I should live. I do not know if this blessing will be given to me again tomorrow. But today, I will live. I will continue my love affair with life, and I will enjoy every moment of it!!

I love rainy days. Days like today. I love them. The air seems so much cleaner. I inhale it and I feel alive. I feel alive. Rain has a cleansing effect. It falls down to the Earth and wipes all the dirt away. It penetrates the ground and works its way through every soil granule and blade of grass it can find. It leaves its mark on everything it touches. It cleanses. And then, it makes way for growth. That is what rain does. It touches the Earth and makes flowers grow, it makes grass green, and it nourishes and feeds so that growth can take place. And after the rain has stopped, the dark clouds that once threatened are gone, and it leaves us with a beautiful rainbow and the sun that eventually makes its way through the clouds. I often wondered if it would ever happen for me… I often wondered if having life growing inside    me would be something I would experience too.  You know how those thoughts of doom and gloom enter your mind and try to convince you that it is merely something you will witness and never have the pleasure of experiencing first hand. And as the years rolled by, those thoughts grew and gained strength.  I had often obsessed over it. Pretended not to be bothered, but secretly obsessing over it. Until it consumed me.  When I lost my Father and my best friend, the obsession grew. Almost as though I were trying to replace these two lives I lost with another.
