Inspired by...Fashion!

Fashion is something that I always find inspiration in. And my personal style has evolved quite a bit since I started being more comfortable in my own skin. I wear clothes that make me feel happy. So, today, I thought I would do something a little different. Today, I am going to do a fashion piece highlighting some statement pieces I cannot go without.
I was very nervous about doing this since my blog has been one where I mostly write stories, but I thought why not change things around for once. After all, this is still inspiration. It is one of my many sources of inspiration. And I am sure my friend Nadine will be happy about this post, she told me ages ago to start doing outfit posts J
So here goes, my first fashion piece. Please note that this may not be what is in vogue at the moment, but it is still what I think I need in my closet, and who knows, you might think so too.
Studs and spikes…

Studded and spiked heels, accessories and clothing items are still a major trend for me. Here are red Steve Madden peep toe heels.

These are my studded Steve Madden's. Less is not always more, so I went all out and got this pair that has studs all over.

                     The oversized sweater…

Another must have is the oversized sweater. I absolutely love it and you can wear it in Summer too as seen in the picture above. This one is from Forever21. If you are really petite, you can even wear it as a dress.

Or you can wear it in Winter or Autumn (Fall) with heels, to spice up the casual look. Whichever way you wear it, just make sure it works for you. My oversized sweater is Polo Jeans co. by Ralph Lauren and is actually a men’s sweater J

                       Boyfriend jeans…

Who doesn’t love boyfriend jeans? They are so comfortable and trendy right now and it gives you a breather from all the skinny jeans. Here the Kardashian sisters have styled theirs slightly different but both looks are gorgeous. Wear them with heels, ankle boots or combat boots.

Here I have styled mine in two different ways. With the first look I paired it with black ankle boots, black chiffon top, blue blazer and a grey beanie.
In the second picture, I went for a simpler look with a black chiffon shirt and nude heels.
I think the more torn, the better J  To get the full effect, take yours one size bigger.

                    The Maxi Skirt…

I am still a fan of the maxi skirt. It can be worn in so many different ways, with heels or flats, jackets or without. It is really a versatile item that I think is still a must have in your closet.

I love maxi skirts and have a few of them in different colours. I admit, sometimes I even turn my dresses into maxi skirts, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!!
Here I paired my white and yellow maxi skirt with a black crop top, gold sandals and matching gold accessories.

So that is it for today’s fashion post. I really hope you enjoyed it. I will try to do these features at least once a week, since fashion is a really big part of my life. This was done at the spur of the moment, so next time I will have a more detailed outfit post.

 And remember…..

Take Care
